The Ho Chi Minh City Election Commission has just issued Resolution No. 154/NQ-UBBC, announcing the official list of 208 candidates for deputies of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council (HĐND) XI term, term 2026 - 2031.
According to the resolution, the whole city has 42 electoral units, with a total of 208 candidates to elect 125 delegates of the new Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.
The list of candidates is structured diversely, ensuring representation for many fields and social components.
In which, there are key leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City such as Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Vo Van Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Council,..
Besides, there are also leaders of wards, communes, special zones; experts, scientists; representatives of religious organizations; and many typical individuals in labor, production and social work.
The Ho Chi Minh City Election Commission requests the People's Committees of wards, communes, special zones and related organizations to urgently list and widely announce the list of candidates to each residential area.
Information about the date of birth, hometown, professional qualifications, and working process of 208 candidates are all publicly transparent for voters to monitor, supervise and learn before voting.
Previously, the National Election Council also announced the list of 13 electoral units and 64 candidates to elect 38 National Assembly deputies of the 16th term in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2026 - 2031 term.
The election day for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term will take place on March 15, 2026.
Notably, Ho Chi Minh City will organize early elections for about 4,538 voters who are performing special tasks at sea, islands, oil and gas rigs, warships and DK1 rigs.
Early voting is expected to take place from February 26, 2026, 17 days earlier than the national election day, in four areas of Phuoc Thang ward, Tam Thang ward and Long Son commune.
