Mobilizing resources to care for people with meritorious services
Over the past time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City has implemented many gratitude activities, taking care of people with meritorious services and policy families. Gratitude work is identified as a regular and long-term task, contributing to preserving and promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude" of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City. To celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), gratitude activities continue to be promoted in the city.
Through initial review, the whole city recorded 829 cases of people with meritorious services and policy families in need of support. The care content focuses on practical and long-term solutions such as issuing savings books, supporting livelihood means, scholarships, health insurance cards; building and repairing gratitude houses; restoring martyrs' photos; equipping wheelchairs, hearing aids; medical examination, dispensing medicine and supporting treatment costs.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and member organizations, socio-political organizations at all levels strive to mobilize more than 30 billion VND to implement gratitude activities on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day. The city sets a goal to ensure that 100% of living Vietnamese Heroic Mothers are nurtured and supported; cases of difficult circumstances are reviewed and resources are connected for timely care. At the same time, 100% of communes, wards, and special zones organize at least one gratitude activity or care for people with meritorious services and policy families.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that caring for policy families and people with meritorious services is not only a political responsibility and obligation but also an order from the heart, a good tradition of the nation. Caring is not only material value but also the feelings and deep gratitude that the Party Committee, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and member organizations, and people from all walks of life give to those who have contributed to the country.
Promoting the strength of great unity to care for the people
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has well performed its role of solidarity, promoting democracy, gathering and listening to people's opinions through voter contact conferences, social criticism conferences, and opinions gathering conferences so that all orientations and action programs of the Front originate from the reality of social life and from the perspectives of all classes of people.
From there, propose, participate in adjusting, criticizing, and promoting so that each policy issued is for the development of the city and for the actual benefit of the people, such as supporting 100% of health insurance contributions for people aged 65 to under 75 years old, ensuring that all students in the area are supported with 100% of health insurance contributions, significantly expanding the community health care network and reducing the burden of medical expenses for people.
Based on the assigned functions and tasks, taking the enjoyment of the people as the foundation for building the great national unity bloc of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and each member organization all strive to care for and improve the material and spiritual life of the people with movements, models, and substances such as the movement "For the Poor - Leaving No One Behind"; the movement "City of Gratitude"; the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized cities"... From there, creating sustainable enjoyment values, so that each citizen is guaranteed to exercise democratic rights, is given conditions and opportunities for development and benefits from the city's development achievements.
