On March 10, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Can Tho City coordinated with the People's Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoi An Dong ward to organize a meeting and voter contact between candidates for the People's Council of Can Tho City for the 2026 - 2031 term and voters to present the action program and election campaign.
According to the allocation of the Can Tho City Election Commission, in constituency No. 3 including Binh Thuy, Long Tuyen, Thoi An Dong wards, there are 5 candidates for City People's Council deputies for the term 2026 - 2031, including: Ms. Le Nguyen Thai Ha; Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai; Mr. Nguyen Hoai Phuong; Ms. Dang Thi Huyen Trinh; Mr. Tran Quoc Vu.
At the Conference, the Organizing Committee approved the summary biographies of each candidate. At the same time, candidates also presented their action programs if they are elected as delegates of the People's Council of Can Tho City for the 2026 - 2031 term.
Many voters have expressed their opinions and expectations for the candidates. Voter Nguyen Dinh Hue (area 3) said that through listening to the action program, voters realized that the candidates all showed a sense of responsibility and desire to contribute to the development of the locality.
Voter Nguyen Dinh Hue hopes that if candidates are elected, they will pay more attention to social security policies, support workers and households facing difficulties; upgrade traffic infrastructure, drainage systems; ensure the environment and urban order. At the same time, strengthen supervision of law enforcement, administrative procedure reform, corruption and waste prevention and regularly maintain contact, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people.
Voter Tran Viet Cuong (area 2, Tra An) expressed his wish that candidates if elected as delegates of the City People's Council should be close to the people, deeply involved with the grassroots, and fulfill their commitments made to voters.
Meanwhile, voter Nguyen Van Chuong (area 4, Tra An) said that the action program of the candidates is quite close to reality. Voters proposed that delegates when elected pay more attention to local development, care for people's lives and support Thoi An Dong ward to soon achieve the criteria of an urban ward.
Voter Ngo Thanh Phu (Thoi Hung area) also proposed that candidates pay attention to advising on land policies suitable to the specific characteristics of localities with many agricultural land, creating conditions for people to change land use purposes, and at the same time supporting agricultural production development, limiting the situation of bumper crops but price drops.
According to the Organizing Committee, with enthusiasm, voters have actively contributed many valuable, sincere and practical opinions, helping candidates gain more experience and responsibility for their action programs.
Through voters' opinions, the Organizing Committee believes that this will be the basis for candidates for City People's Council delegates for the 2026 - 2031 term to study, absorb and fully reflect the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of voters at the sessions of the City People's Council when they are trusted by voters to be elected as delegates of the City People's Council for the 2026 - 2031 term.
