Building a new generation of youth with bravery and a desire to contribute

At the first working session, the Executive Committee of the Congress, consisting of 16 comrades; the Secretariat of the Congress, 3 comrades; and the Appraisal Board for delegate status, 15 comrades, were elected.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Bui Quang Huy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), First Secretary of the Central Youth Union - affirmed that the 13th National Youth Union Congress is an important political event, a great festival of Vietnamese youth.

The Congress had the action slogan: "Self-reliance, Pioneering creativity, Aspiration to contribute, Mastering the future".

The Congress has the task of evaluating the results of Youth Union work and youth and children's movements for the term 2022 - 2027; building goals, tasks, and solutions for Youth Union work and youth and children's movements for the term 2026 - 2031; discussing and giving opinions on the revised and supplemented Charter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; and electing the 13th Central Committee of the Youth Union, term 2026 - 2031.

With honor and responsibility to the youth of the whole country, the Central Committee of the Youth Union requests the delegates to focus their intelligence and strength to fully participate in the work of the Congress and actively contribute to the overall success of the Congress," Mr. Huy emphasized.

At the first working session, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Secretary of the Central Youth Union - presented a summary of the draft political report of the congress, titled: "Proud and confident in following the Party; Vietnamese youth build great ambitions, join hands, unite, pioneer, and move forward strongly in the era of national rise".

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, the 13th National Youth Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031 takes place in the context of the entire Party, people and army implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress; Resolution of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Agencies; Resolution of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and many key resolutions of the Party and State being issued.

In addition, Youth Union work and youth and children's movements continue to implement the goals of the Strategy for Development of Vietnamese Youth in the period 2021 - 2030, focusing on building a new generation of youth with revolutionary ideals, patriotism, bravery, aspiration to contribute, good morality; with deep knowledge, healthy physique, soul rich in Vietnamese cultural identity; becoming global citizens with Vietnamese soul, contributing to building and protecting the Fatherland.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet said that the goal of the 2026 - 2031 term is to build a comprehensively strong Youth Union organization, truly a reliable reserve team of the Party, a revolutionary shock force, a socialist youth school; representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of young people; innovating and improving the quality of content and methods of Youth Union activities associated with the country's development goals.
