Dak Lak promotes the intelligence of union members to contribute opinions to the draft report of the Vietnam Trade Union Congress

Long Du |

Dak Lak - The Provincial Trade Union has gathered and collected opinions from union members and workers to contribute to the draft report of the Vietnam Trade Union Congress.

On May 13, the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation said that it had summarized 1,218 comments on the draft Report of the Executive Committee of the 13th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor submitted to the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.

The dissemination of opinions is widely implemented to promote the spirit of democracy, responsibility and wisdom of officials, union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers in the province regarding the draft political report of the trade union organization.

The opinions were taken from members of the Executive Committee, the Inspection Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation for the term 2023 - 2028; trade union levels, union members, workers at agencies, units, and enterprises; commune and ward trade unions, grassroots trade unions directly under them, and official delegates attending the 1st Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

Most of the opinions-giving conferences are organized directly at agencies, units, and businesses through trade union congresses, union member meetings, or expanded executive committee meetings. Some units implement online opinion gathering through internal Zalo groups.

The majority of opinions highly appreciated the draft Report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and said that the report was elaborately prepared, scientifically structured, with tight content, comprehensively reflecting the reality of trade union activities in the 2023 - 2028 term.

Regarding the report title: "Building a comprehensively strong Vietnam Trade Union; focusing on representing, protecting, and caring for union members and workers; promoting the pioneering role, arousing the spirit of innovation and creativity in realizing the aspiration to build a prosperous and happy country," most opinions agreed and said that no adjustments or supplements are needed.

Regarding the assessment of the context of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, many opinions said that the draft content closely follows reality. However, some delegates proposed to add difficulties related to the current arrangement of trade union organizations.

Accordingly, although the functions and tasks of the trade union do not change, the number of full-time officials is still limited, causing difficulties in implementing tasks, especially when provincial-level trade unions have to directly manage and guide activities to each grassroots trade union.

Regarding the main goals and targets, breakthroughs and groups of tasks and solutions in the next term, most opinions expressed agreement, assessing the content as feasible and suitable for practical requirements.

In addition, some opinions suggested supplementing solutions to strengthen full-time trade union officials at provincial and city labor federations; specific guidance on the functions and tasks of commune and ward trade unions; and at the same time promote training and fostering trade union officials to meet the requirements in the new situation.

Mr. Le Van Thanh - Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation said that the contributions focused on practical issues such as improving the effectiveness of caring for and protecting workers' rights; strengthening the team of full-time trade union officials; innovating trade union operating methods and adapting to the requirements in the new situation.

According to Mr. Thanh, participating in contributing opinions not only contributes to strengthening the trust of union members and workers in the trade union organization but also affirms the representative role of the trade union in gathering voices from the grassroots level.

This is also an important basis for the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress to develop practical policies, meeting the development requirements of the country and the increasingly diverse needs of workers in the new era.
