The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Da Nang to An Giang on proactively responding to strong winds at sea.
The official dispatch clearly states that, according to news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of June 24 - June 25, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Dong Thap, west of the South East Sea area (including the sea area west of Truong Sa special zone) has strong southwest winds of level 5-6, gusts of level 7-8; in addition, the sea area from Lam Dong to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the central and southern areas of the East Sea (including Truong Sa special zone) are likely to experience tornadoes, strong gusts of level 6-7.
To proactively respond to strong winds at sea, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense proposes that the People's Committees of provinces and cities: Closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of strong winds at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and ships operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety for people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur. Be ready with forces and means for rescue and relief when required.
Be on duty seriously, regularly report to the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
12 provinces and cities received official letters including: Da Nang; Quang Ngai; Gia Lai; Dak Lak; Khanh Hoa; Lam Dong; Ho Chi Minh City; Dong Thap; Vinh Long; Can Tho; Ca Mau; An Giang.
