At 7 pm on August 21, the storm center was located at about 20.7 degrees North latitude - 108.4 degrees East longitude, about 90km northeast of Bach Long Vi special zone.
The strongest wind near the storm center is strong at level 8 (62-74 km/h), gusting at level 10. The storm is moving slowly in the North direction at a speed of about 3 km/h.
Forecast for the next 24 hours, the storm will move in a northerly direction, at a speed of about 3 km/h.
By 7:00 PM on August 22, the storm's center will be located at about 21.1 degrees North latitude - 108.3 degrees East longitude; over the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, about 120km east of Quang Ninh, about 110km north-northeast of Bach Long Vi special zone. Wind intensity is strong at level 8, gusts at level 10.
The dangerous area is located about the north of the 19th parallel of the North latitude; from the 107th to 110th parallel of the East longitude. The disaster risk level is level 3 for the Gulf of Tonkin area (including Bach Long Vi, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai and Hon Dau island special zones).
Forecast for the next 48 hours, the storm will move in a South direction, at a speed of about 3 km/h.
By 7:00 PM on August 23, the storm center will be located at about 20.2 degrees North latitude - 108.1 degrees East longitude; over the Northern Gulf of Tonkin area, about 170km east-southeast of Hai Phong. The wind intensity will maintain at level 8, gusting at level 10. The dangerous area remains unchanged.
Forecast for the next 72 hours, the storm will move in a Southeast-east direction, at a speed of about 3 km/h.
By 7:00 PM on August 24, the storm center will be located at about 20.0 degrees North latitude - 109.1 degrees East longitude; in the sea area east of the Gulf of Tonkin, about 120km east of Bach Long Vi special zone, about 270km east-southeast of Hai Phong. Wind intensity is strong at level 8, gusts at level 10. The dangerous area remains unchanged.
From 72 to 120 hours later, the storm is likely to change direction and move in a Northeast direction, moving 3-5km per hour, gradually weakening into a tropical depression.
Regarding the impact of the storm, at sea, the Gulf of Tonkin area (including Bach Long Vi, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai special zones and Hon Dau island) has strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm center level 8, gusts of level 10, waves 2-4m high; strong rough seas.
Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and large waves.
On land, the Northeast region, the south of Phu Tho and Thanh Hoa provinces will have moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some places.
