Latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on November 15, the center of storm Usagi was located at about 20.4 degrees north latitude; 120.3 degrees east longitude, in the sea north of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 11 (103 - 117 km/h), gusting to level 13. The storm is moving northwest at a speed of about 15 km/h.
In the next 24 hours, the storm is forecast to move northwestward, then turn northeastward at a speed of about 15km/h and gradually weaken. At 10:00 a.m. on November 16, the center of the storm was at about 22.6 degrees north latitude - 120.9 degrees east longitude; on the mainland south of Taiwan (China). The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 9, gusting to level 11.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the storm will move northeast at a speed of about 5 - 10 km/h and weaken further. At 10:00 a.m. on November 17, the center of the storm will be at about 23.4 degrees north latitude - 122.3 degrees east longitude; in the sea east of Taiwan (China). The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 8, gusting to level 10.
It is forecasted that in the next 72 hours, the storm will move northeast at a speed of about 5 - 10 km/h and weaken into a tropical depression. At 10:00 a.m. on November 18, the center of the tropical depression will be at about 24.1 degrees north latitude - 123.7 degrees east longitude; in the sea east of Taiwan (China). The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6, gusting to level 8.
Regarding the impact of the storm, the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea has strong winds of level 8 - 9, the area near the storm's eye has winds of level 10 - 11, gusts of level 13, waves 3 - 5m high, the area near the eye has waves of 5 - 7m; the sea is very rough.
Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
