On July 18, Dam Rong 1 Commune People's Committee (Lam Dong) said that the locality had just received a Java pangolin individual discovered by Mr. Nguyen Tien Viet - Head of the Culture and Social Department of the commune near the park area and proactively handed it over to functional agencies.

After receiving it, the Economic Department of Dam Rong 1 commune coordinated with the forest rangers and commune police to check the health status of the animals.
Initial identification, this is a Java pangolin weighing about 3.4kg, belonging to Group IB - endangered, precious, and rare forest animal species prioritized for protection, strictly prohibited from exploitation, hunting, trading and use in any form.
After completing the procedures according to regulations, functional agencies have re-released the pangolin individual back to the natural environment, contributing to biodiversity conservation and restoring wildlife populations.

According to Dam Rong 1 Commune People's Committee, the fact that people proactively hand over wild animals to functional agencies shows awareness and responsibility in nature protection work; and at the same time contributes to improving the effectiveness of conservation of rare animal species.
Local authorities recommend that when people discover wild animals injured, illegally kept or lost in residential areas, they should promptly notify or voluntarily hand them over to functional agencies for rescue, care and handling in accordance with the law.
