Functional forces of Thuong Duc commune, Da Nang, have just coordinated with the Da Nang Protection Forest Management Board to release a rare pangolin individual, weighing about 2kg, back to the natural forest environment after a period of care.
Previously, while going to the back garden to water vegetables, Mr. Truong Muoi, residing in Loc Bac village, Thuong Duc commune, suddenly discovered a pangolin caught in a net.
Mr. Muoi gently removed it, ensuring the safety of the animal, then contacted and handed it over to the forest protection force at Song Cung Post, belonging to Thuong Duc Forest Protection Team, Forest Protection Management Station No. 3.

Through initial inspection, the pangolin individual was not injured, and its health was stable. After 6 days of monitoring and care, functional forces determined that the animal was eligible to return to its natural environment.
The Da Nang Protection Forest Management Board praised Mr. Truong Muoi's actions, and at the same time advised people not to hunt, trap, raise or illegally trade wild animals.
In Vietnam and around the world, pangolins are endangered and rare species in the Red Book and are strictly protected. All acts of hunting, storing, transporting or illegally trading are criminally prosecuted.
