Forecast for the next 24 hours, the tropical depression is likely to strengthen into a storm with intensity level 8, gusting level 10.

Updated from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 16:00 on August 4, the center of the tropical depression was located at about 17.4 degrees North latitude - 118.9 degrees East longitude, over the sea southeast of the Northern East Sea area. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is strong at level 6-7 (39-61 km/h), gusting at level 9. The tropical depression is moving in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h.

Forecast for the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move in a Southeast-east direction, at a speed of about 5 km/h and is likely to strengthen into a storm.

By 16:00 on August 5, the storm's center will be located at about 17.1 degrees North latitude - 120.2 degrees East longitude; over the coastal area northwest of Luzon Island (Philippines). Wind intensity is strong at level 8, gusting at level 10.

The dangerous area is located between 16 and 18.5 degrees North latitude; east of 118 degrees East longitude. The disaster risk level is level 3 for the sea area southeast of the Northern East Sea region.

Forecast for the next 48 hours, the storm will move in an East direction, at a speed of about 5 km/h and gradually weaken into a tropical depression.

By 16:00 on August 6, the center of the tropical depression will be located at about 17.0 degrees North latitude - 121.5 degrees East longitude; in the area north of Luzon Island (Philippines). Wind intensity is strong at level 6, gusting at level 8.

The dangerous area is located at about 16 to 18.5 degrees North latitude; east of the 118.5 degree East longitude. The disaster risk level is level 3 for the sea area southeast of the Northern East Sea region.

Forecast for the next 72 hours, the tropical depression will move in the East-Northeast direction at a speed of 5-10 km/h. The intensity gradually weakens into a low pressure area with winds below level 6. By 16:00 on August 7, the center of the low pressure area will be located at about 17.5 degrees North latitude - 123 degrees East longitude, over the sea northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines).

Regarding the impact of the tropical depression, the sea area southeast of the Northern East Sea area has strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 9, then increasing to level 8, gusts of level 10; sea waves are 2 - 4m high, strong sea waves. It is forecast that the tropical depression will not affect the coastal and mainland areas of Vietnam.

Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and large waves.
