Heavy rain gradually decreases from the night of September 17.
The areas of Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, the south of Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces from September 16 to September 17, will have heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall from 80-150mm, locally over 250mm.
Lang Son area, south of Son La province, north of Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen provinces from September 16 to September 17, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall from 40-70mm, locally over 150mm.
Warning of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 100mm within 3 hours.
Lai Chau, Dien Bien, northern Son La, from Ha Tinh to Da Nang and Quang Ngai, Gia Lai provinces on the day and night of September 16, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms with common rainfall from 15-30mm, locally heavy rain over 70mm. Rain time is concentrated in the afternoon and night.
In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, hail is level 1.
The meteorological agency forecasts that from the night of September 17, heavy rain in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will tend to gradually decrease.
Floods on some rivers above alarm level 3
Currently, floods on the Boi River (Phu Tho) are rising again; floods on the Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh), Buoi River, and Am River (Thanh Hoa) are rising.
Water levels at 7:00 AM on September 16th on some rivers are as follows:
On the Boi River at Hung Thi station 14.83m, above alarm level 3 by 1.83m;
On the Hoang Long River at Ben De station 3.81m, below alarm level 3 by 0.19m;
On the Buoi River (Thanh Hoa) at Thach Quang station 16.67m, above alarm level 3 by 0.67m; at Kim Tan station 11.08m, above alarm level 2 by 0.08m;
On the Am River at Lang Chanh station 50.49m, 0.49m above alarm level 2.
Warning in the next 12 hours, floods on the Boi River, upstream of the Buoi River are likely to peak above alarm level 3; the Am River peak below alarm level 3, then recede.
In the next 24 hours, floods on the Hoang Long River and downstream of the Buoi River will continue to rise and be at alarm level 3 and above alarm level 3. Floods on the upstream of the Ma River and Chu River will rise and are likely to be at alarm level 1 to above alarm level 1.
