The weather in all three regions in the recent period has been complicated, continuously experiencing heavy rain; including extreme, unusual rains. A number of meteorological stations across the country have observed the highest rainfall of the day and the monthly rainfall exceeding the historical value of the same period.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a nationwide seasonal hydro-metropoleum forecast bulletin (ie from July to December). Notably, there is information on rainfall forecasts and hot weather trends in the coming months.

Regarding temperature trends, from July to December, the average temperature across the country will be approximately the same as the average of many years in the same period.
Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam - Deputy Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the heat will be concentrated in the Northern and Central regions from now until August.
"Since September, the heat has gradually decreased. The cold air will gradually get stronger from around October, increasing its intensity from November" - Mr. Lam said.
Regarding the rainfall trend, the total rainfall from July to September across the country is approximately the same as the average of many years in the same period. In October and November, total rainfall in the Central Central and South Central Coast regions and Central Highlands is 10 - 25% higher than the average of many years, other places are approximately the average of many years in the same period. In December, total rainfall in regions nationwide was approximately the same as the average.
"From July to September, moderate to heavy rains are likely to appear in the Northern, North Central, Central and South Highlands regions. From October to December, it is forecasted that we need to be on guard against moderate to heavy rains in the Central region" - Mr. Lam emphasized.
Dangerous weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind continue to occur nationwide, especially in October and November.
Previously, in May, total rainfall in most areas across the country was generally 20 - 80% higher than the average of many years. In the first half of June, the total rainfall in the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai was 6 to 8 times higher, in some places 10 - 12 times higher than the average of many years in the same period.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Van Khiem - Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, current international research reports and the World Meteorological Organization are speculating and assessing that the main cause of increasingly extreme and unusual natural disasters is due to the impact of climate change.
"The reason is that in the context of climate change, atmospheric temperatures are getting hotter and hotter and leading to changes in atmospheric circulation systems at different scales, causing increased atmospheric instability" - Mr. Khiem analyzed.
Mr. Khiem cited the study report of the Intergovernmental Committee on Climate Change, which assessed that when the temperature increases to 1 degree Celsius, the amount of water and steam stored in the atmosphere is also higher.
"This is an unfavorable condition that makes the possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rain more frequent and unusual than before" - Mr. Khiem commented.
