According to Mr. Mai Van Khiem, Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Department of Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the cause of this hot spell is due to the influence of the hot low pressure area in the west combined with the impact of the strong foehn wind effect.

It is forecasted that the hot low pressure area in the west is still operating strongly, continuing to impact and cause a strong foehn wind effect in the central provinces, in the southern area of the subtropical high pressure (stable air mass) still covering the Central Highlands and the Southern provinces" - Mr. Khiem added.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City from April 12-13, is forecast to have intense and especially intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 38-40 degrees C, in some places above 40 degrees C. The relative lowest humidity is commonly from 30-35%.

From around the 15-16, hot weather in the North, Central Highlands and South tends to gradually subside. From around the 17th, hot weather in the Central provinces tends to gradually subside.

The temperature in April in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa-Hue is forecast to tend to be warmer by 1.5-2.5 degrees Celsius compared to the same period many years ago; in the remaining areas across the country, the temperature level is only 0.5-1.5 degrees Celsius higher.
From about May, it will appear more, hot spells will also be strong in the Northern and Central regions and will increase in intensity until August 2026. Then from about September 2026, hot weather tends to gradually decrease. Hot weather in 2026 is likely to occur more and more intensely than the same period in 2025" - Mr. Khiem assessed.
