According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the impact of the northeast monsoon, currently, the northern sea area of the Northern East Sea has strong northeast winds at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting at level 7 - 8.
Night of March 5 and day of March 6, Northern East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone): strong wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts level 7; especially the northeastern sea area from the afternoon of March 6 gradually strengthens to level 6, gusts level 7 - 8, rough seas; waves 2 - 4m high.
In the late afternoon of March 6, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau and the west of the South East Sea area (including the western Truong Sa special zone) will have strong winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7, rough seas; waves are 2-3m high.
In addition, on the night of March 5 and day of March 6, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
On the night of March 6 and the day of March 7, the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea will have strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts of level 8 - 9, strong sea waves. Sea waves are 2 - 4m high.
The meteorological agency warns that the level of natural disaster risk at sea is level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and large waves.
Regarding the sea weather trend, in March, it is forecast that storms/tropical depressions are unlikely to appear in the East Sea area. According to multi-year averages, there are 0.2 storms/tropical depressions in the East Sea in March and they will not make landfall in Vietnam.
