According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and this morning (February 25), the Northern and North Central regions had rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
The Northern and North Central regions from February 25 to the end of February 26, are forecast to have showers and scattered thunderstorms. Common rainfall is 10 - 30mm/24h, locally heavy rain over 70mm/24h.
The Southern region, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong from February 26-27, are forecast to have the possibility of a period of unseasonal showers and thunderstorms. Common rainfall is 10 - 20mm/24h, locally heavy rain over 50mm/24h. Rain time is concentrated in the afternoon and evening.
The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms are likely to occur with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides on slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
Regarding sea weather, currently, the central and southern areas of the East Sea (including the Truong Sa special zone) have showers and thunderstorms.
Forecast for day and night of February 25, the sea area south of the central East Sea, the South East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) and the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind at level 6 - 7 and waves over 2m high.
All ships operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
