- The rainy season in the North has begun and we believe that around the end of May 2025, total rainfall will tend to be higher than the average of many years.
From May 22 to 25, the North is at risk of the next widespread rain. The rain area of this heavy rain will be concentrated in the mountainous and midland areas of the North.
During the recent rain on May 17-18, many localities in the northern mountainous region recorded flash floods and landslides. So how does the meteorological agency warn about the risks that may occur in the upcoming rain, sir?
- It is currently the time of changing seasons, so the phenomenon of strong thunderstorms may appear accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and hail, strong gusts of wind.
The focus areas of the upcoming rain are all areas that have recently experienced heavy rain and led to dangerous natural disasters.

What is the distant forecast for the trend of this year's rainy season in the North, sir?
- The rainy season in the North in the coming time is expected to last from June to September. Of which, heavy rain will be concentrated from July to September.
During this period, the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas is very high.
Regarding the total rainfall in the North from June to October, it tends to be approximately the same as the average of many years.
In November, total rainfall in the North tends to be lower than the average of many years.
