Cold air strengthens, the North is about to cool down more deeply

The meteorological agency forecasts that on the night of October 2 - October 3, the cold air will be stronger and the temperature in the North will continue to decrease.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has now affected the North, North Central and some places in the Central Central region. The Gulf of Tonkin has strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 9.

The meteorological agency has forecast cold air developments in the next 24 to 48 hours.

During the day and night of October 2, cold air continues to affect other places in the Central Central region. Northeast wind inland level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.

In the North and North Central regions, the nights and early mornings are cold, especially in the mountainous regions of the North. The lowest temperatures in the North and Thanh Hoa are generally from 20 - 22 degrees Celsius; in the mountainous regions, 18 - 20 degrees Celsius, in some places below 17 degrees Celsius.

Average daily temperature is from 23 - 25 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas it is below 23 degrees Celsius.

In Hanoi area from the night of October 2, the lowest temperature is commonly 19 - 22 degrees Celsius, early morning and night are cold.

From Quang Binh to Binh Dinh, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 40 - 80mm, locally over 150mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

Localized heavy rains can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

During the day and night of October 3, the lowest temperature in the North and Thanh Hoa is generally from 19 - 22 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas 17 - 19 degrees Celsius, in high mountainous areas some places are below 16 degrees Celsius. The average temperature during the day is from 22 - 24 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas some places are below 22 degrees Celsius.

Nghe An - Ha Tinh area has the lowest temperature commonly from 20 - 23 degrees Celsius. Average temperature during the day is from 22 - 25 degrees Celsius.

At sea, on October 2, the Gulf of Tonkin has strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8; rough seas; waves 2-3m high. The wind gradually decreases at night.

Strong winds and large waves at sea are likely to affect boating and other activities.
