Lam Dong - The Provincial People's Committee requests 8 communes to urgently complete procedures for selecting and signing contracts for collecting, transporting, and treating domestic waste before September 20.

On September 15, the Office of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province said that the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document directing the urgent completion of selection and signing of contracts to provide services for collecting, transporting, and treating domestic waste in the area.

Accordingly, the People's Committees of Son Dien, Phan Ri Cua, Phan Son, Hoa Thang, Ham Thuan, Nam Thanh, Dak Mil and Quang Hoa communes are requested to urgently complete relevant tasks and procedures to select and sign service supply contracts.

The implementation results must be reported to the Provincial People's Committee through the Department of Agriculture and Environment before September 20, 2026.

Notably, the Provincial People's Committee requested these 8 localities to simultaneously review and clarify the causes and responsibilities of collectives and individuals related to the slow organization of implementation. The results must be reported to the Department of Home Affairs before September 30.

For Ta Hine, Ta Nang, Bao Lam 3, Ham Tan communes and Phu Quy special zone, the Provincial People's Committee requests to continue to urgently carry out procedures to select suppliers according to regulations.

In case no units participate or difficulties or obstacles beyond their authority arise, localities must promptly report to the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies for guidance and handling.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested localities that have signed collection and transportation contracts but have not completed domestic solid waste treatment contracts to urgently review and complete the remaining procedures.

Waste collection, transportation, and treatment must be maintained continuously, not allowing accumulation and causing environmental pollution.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to continue monitoring, urging, and guiding localities to complete the selection and signing of contracts according to regulations.

Based on the reports of 8 communes, the Department of Home Affairs is responsible for advising the Provincial People's Committee to handle the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals according to regulations, to be completed before October 5, 2026.
