According to the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention, the storm warning message sent to people on June 24 was due to a technical error.

On June 24, many people were surprised to receive a message from a sender named "Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development" with the warning content: "Typhoon No. 3 has strengthened into a super typhoon, forecast to make landfall in the late afternoon of September 7...".

The Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) said that some people receiving information was due to technical errors. In fact, this is a warning message from 2024, related to a storm that had occurred before.

Due to technical errors in the transmission of network operator messages, some subscribers received the old message content in the afternoon of June 24. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (formerly the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) affirmed that it did not send any storm warning messages at the present time," the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention shared information with the press.

This Department also affirmed that at the present time there are no storms directly affecting our country's mainland and since the beginning of the 2026 rainy and storm season, no storm activity has been recorded in the East Sea.

The Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control recommends that people remain calm and do not share inaccurate information and monitor forecast information and direction from official agencies.
