The North and North Central regions have had rain and showers. Bach Long Vy station has strong winds of level 7, sometimes level 8, gusting to level 9; Con Co station has gusts of wind level 8; Hon Ngu station has strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7; Ly Son station has strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8.
In the evening and night of November 18, cold air continues to affect other places in the North and North Central regions, then affects the Central Central and South Central regions. On land, strong northeast winds of level 3 - 4, coastal areas of level 4 - 5, some places of level 6, gusting to level 7.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the Northern provinces are currently being affected by a strong cold air mass.
"We consider it the strongest period since the beginning of the season. With the impact of cold air, combined with the wind convergence area at 5,000m moving from the Upper Laos area, from now until the end of November 19, there will be rain and showers in the Northern region" - Mr. Huong said.
According to the representative of the meteorological agency, due to the impact of cold air and rain, the temperature in the North will decrease sharply on November 18 and 19.
The lowest temperature in the mountainous areas of the North will decrease to 9 - 12 degrees Celsius. The midlands and deltas will have the lowest temperature drop to 12 - 14 degrees Celsius, mountainous areas have temperature points that are likely to drop below 8 degrees Celsius.

"The night of November 18 to November 19 is the coldest period of this period. The mountainous and midland areas of the North will likely experience severe cold" - Mr. Huong said.
According to Mr. Huong, from November 20 onwards, the wind convergence above 5,000m has weakened, the northern provinces will still have the impact of cold air but the weather will turn to a state of deep cold at night and in the morning, and sunny during the day.
"From November 20 to November 23, mountainous areas need to be on guard against the phenomenon of frost and salinity that can affect crops and livestock" - Mr. Huong recommended.
The Hanoi area is also forecast to have rain and showers. Cold weather, some places are very cold. The lowest temperature is commonly 12 - 14 degrees Celsius.

Night of November 18 and November 19: The North and North Central regions have the lowest temperature of 12-15 degrees Celsius, the mountainous and midland areas of the North are 9-12 degrees Celsius, the high mountains have places below 5 degrees Celsius. The average temperature is 14-16 degrees Celsius, the mountainous and midland areas of the North are 13-15 degrees Celsius, the high mountains have places below 12 degrees Celsius.
Quang Tri and Hue City have the lowest temperature of 19-21 degrees Celsius; the average temperature is 21-23 degrees Celsius.
Night of November 19 and November 20: The North and North Central regions will have the lowest temperature of 12-15 degrees Celsius, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will have 9-12 degrees Celsius, the high mountainous areas will have places below 5 degrees Celsius. The average temperature is 16-18 degrees Celsius, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will have 14-16 degrees Celsius, the high mountainous areas will have places below 13 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of the strengthening cold air combined with disturbances in the high-altitude easterly wind zone, there will be widespread heavy rain in the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa. Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods, landslides; heavy rain in a short period of time can cause flooding in urban areas and industrial parks.
