Faced with this situation, Mr. Ngo Nguyen Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Lieu province - inspected the rice production situation and sewers in the districts of Vinh Loi, Hong Dan, and Hoa Binh.
In Vinh Hung A commune, Vinh Loi district, rice sweet soups planted around 15 - 20 days ago are developing well. However, due to the impact of storm No. 1, continuous heavy rain with rainfall reaching 200mm or more has caused the water level in the canals in the past few days to be quite high, if there is no timely water removal solution, it will affect.

Mr. Ngo Nguyen Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Lieu province, directed the Department of Irrigation and Construction Management of the province to lower the water level in the canals in the fields so that when there are storms and floods, the water level in the fields does not rise. Coordinate with the Ninh Quoi irrigation operation unit to prepare for drainage when the upstream water level is high compared to the downstream, then propose to operate and regulate water on the Phung Hiep Management Canal, reduce water for rice production areas...
Meanwhile, in Ca Mau, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tran Van Thoi district said that there are currently more than 28,600 hectares of rice in the district that have been planted. Due to heavy rain in recent days, over 4,600 hectares of rice have been flooded. Many households have to pump water from fields to canals and ditches, but some low-lying areas have the same water level as the fields, so they have to watch the rice get flooded.
In the face of the above situation, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province directed heads of provincial departments, branches, sectors, and unions and Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts and cities of Ca Mau to closely monitor forecasts and warnings about natural disasters, promptly notify people to proactively respond and avoid damage.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment (Standing Agency for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue) directs its affiliated units to inspect the entire system of culverts, dams, and pumping stations, coordinate with local authorities to operate appropriately and effectively to drain water, prevent high tides, protect production and strengthen guidance for people to reinforce embankments, prevent overflow, measures to ensure safety for crops, livestock, and aquaculture, and implement policies to support production recovery due to natural disasters in accordance with prescribed procedures and order. In particular, focusing on supporting Tran Van Thoi district in implementing flood prevention and control measures, sending professional staff to the site to guide people on measures to care for flooded rice, minimizing damage.
