On the evening of August 30, Nam Nung Commune Police (Lam Dong) said that the unit had just coordinated with Quang Phu Forest Protection Department to receive 2 pig-tailed macaques discovered by Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung (born 1991, residing in Yok Ju hamlet, Nam Nung commune) in a coffee plantation.
Previously, at about 7 am on August 29, while working in the fields, Mr. Trung discovered 2 monkeys, so he proactively reported it to the Nam Nung Commune Police.
Immediately after that, the Commune Police coordinated with the Quang Phu Forest Protection Department to inspect and determined that these were 2 pig-tailed macaques, belonging to Group IIB in the List of endangered, precious, and rare forest plants and animals.
After checking the health status, functional forces coordinated with Mr. Trung to bring the 2 monkeys to a suitable area to release them back to their natural environment.
People's proactive reporting when detecting endangered, precious, and rare forest animals contributes to protecting wildlife, biodiversity conservation and forest resources in the area.
