According to Cam Binh Commune Police, on the morning of June 10, the unit received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh (born in 1965, residing in Dong Nam Ly village, Cam Binh commune, Ha Tinh province) about catching a pig-tailed macaque weighing about 1.5 kg while working in the fields.
Knowing that this is a rare animal, Mr. Hanh proactively handed it over to functional agencies to release it back into nature.
After receiving the information, Cam Binh Commune Police coordinated with Cam Xuyen Forest Protection Department to carry out procedures to receive and then hand over to Vu Quang National Park for care and release back to nature according to regulations.
The pig-tailed macaque mentioned above belongs to group IIB - list of endangered, precious and rare forest animals.
