On February 27, Cat Tien 2 Commune Police said they had received a rare wild bird individual handed over by local people.
The person who handed over the rare forest bird individual mentioned above is Mr. Nguyen Viet Moc (34 years old, residing in Cat Tien 2 commune).

Previously, Mr. Moc raised a white-bellied Cat Cao bird from a young age. After being propagated and mobilized, he voluntarily handed it over to functional agencies.
The white-bellied peacock is one of the hornbill birds (also known as Eastern peacock), scientific name Anthracoceros albirostris, belonging to group IIB in the list of endangered and rare forest animals.
After receiving it, Cat Tien 2 Commune Police coordinated with Phuoc Son Forest Ranger Station to check the health, make a record according to regulations and proceed to re-release the individual bird back to the natural environment in the forest area managed by Cat Tien National Park.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Moc's act of voluntarily handing over wild animals is considered commendable. Thereby, contributing to spreading awareness of law compliance and biodiversity protection in the area.
