On the morning of February 28, within the framework of the traditional fishing festival of Thai Duong Ha village (Thuan An ward, Hue city), a boat sinking incident occurred near the Thuan An fishing port area.
According to initial information, at about 7 am on February 28, the Ward People's Committee received a report that a boat had sunk about 500m from the festival area. Immediately after that, the locality stopped festival activities to mobilize forces and rescue vehicles.
About 30 minutes later, functional forces and people recovered 2 victims. The cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified by the police agency.
At the time of the incident, the traditional boat race had not taken place as planned.
At about 8:15 am on the same day, city leaders and local authorities visited, encouraged, and shared with the families of the victims.
