A representative of Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited (URENCO) said that at the second training session, garbage stagnated at some intersections, causing cleaning workers to have to clean up until the next morning to finish. But by the preliminary review, the situation had improved significantly.
In addition to propaganda and reminders for people to proactively collect garbage and put it in bins or send it to workers, the amount of garbage thrown haphazardly has decreased significantly. URENCO also deploys over 300 workers in the wards of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, on duty to collect garbage 24/24. At the same time, 800 trash bags and hundreds of additional trash bins were arranged, significantly reducing the amount of garbage dumped during the road closure period. Dozens of small trucks and sweep trucks are also deployed at the level, ready to transport garbage from manual workers.

Along with that, URENCO coordinated with the Hanoi Youth Union to mobilize 7,000 union members and young people to participate in the general cleaning within 1 hour of the event. This is an effective support force, contributing to creating positive changes in the speed and quality of environmental sanitation. Immediately after finishing the training, the vehicles immediately deployed a sweep in the squares and major intersections. By 11pm, the entire central area was basically clean, instead of lasting for many hours as before.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Deputy General Director of Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited, compared to the second training session, the amount of waste this time increased, but thanks to careful preparation, the company completely handled it that night. The good news is that people's awareness has changed significantly, many people proactively put garbage in bins, coordinating with cleaning workers. This is a positive signal for the work of serving the official holiday on September 2 to achieve the highest efficiency.

According to Ms. Ninh Thi Loan, a worker in the environmental sanitation team of Hoan Kiem ward, if in the previous rehearsal, workers had to clean up garbage that had spilled all over the road, then this time many people would be more aware. Some families even collect garbage to keep in one place. "Although the amount of garbage is higher, the work is much more convenient," said Ms. Loan.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh (in Chuong My, Hanoi) said that trash bins are placed in many places, so people are more convenient to throw trash away. "We brought drinking water and snacks, but we all collected them and left them in the right place. I think if each person contributes a little, the work of environmental workers will be greatly reduced.
However, there are still some people waiting to eat and drink on the sidewalk; the situation of street vendors around the road ban area continues to increase on-site waste. In addition, due to early road closures, it is difficult to coordinate garbage collection vehicles on main routes.
Some hot spots with large crowds such as Co Tan flower garden, Trang Tien - Ngo Quyen summer, Nguyen Thai Hoc area... still put great pressure on cleaning and mobile toilet arrangement. According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, the parade and march to come here is of special significance, so the company has developed a detailed plan with the motto "clean before - during - after the event". Determine this as a political task, not simply a waste collection. The image of a civilized, clean and beautiful capital on the occasion of the big anniversary is the pride of all cadres and workers in the environmental sector.
"Environmental sanitation work in the recent training and preliminary approval sessions shows the outstanding efforts of the urban environment sector, the synchronous coordination of many forces along with positive changes from the people, which have created a new look for the capital on this important occasion," Mr. Son shared.
