The capital Hanoi these days is covered with red flags with yellow stars, the streets are brightly lit with festival atmosphere, towards the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Joining that flow, environmental sanitation workers are also quietly contributing a small part of their efforts to create a green - clean - beautiful appearance for the capital.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao - Head of Group 1, Hanoi Urban Environment Company (Hai Ba Trung Branch) - shared: "These days, our work is more than usual. Especially when there is heavy rain, the amount of garbage and stagnant water increases''.
''It's hard work, however, each individual tries their best to complete the work. Because when the capital is clean and neat during big holidays, the fatigue will disappear, said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao.
Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet - a worker at Hanoi Urban Environment Company - shared: "During this time, what we hope for most is that each person raises their awareness of maintaining public hygiene. When the streets become clean and beautiful, the efforts of every worker like us will be more meaningful".

''My greatest joy and pride is to contribute a part of my strength, even silently, to make the capital more fresh and radiant to welcome the sacred National Day of the nation' '' Ms. Nguyet added.
Despite the erratic rain and sunshine, on each route, you can see the images of Belgian environmental sanitation workers diligently cleaning, collecting garbage, and draining water after the rain to ensure the streets are airy.
Each environmental sanitation worker has contributed a small part to create the beauty of the capital Hanoi, so that people and tourists can fully enjoy the solemn and joyful atmosphere towards the 80th anniversary of the National Day on September 2.
