On March 22, the Lam Dong Provincial Forest Protection Department said that the total forest area of the whole province is nearly 1.113 million hectares. Of which, natural forests are more than 930.156 hectares; planted forests have become forests over 182.679 hectares; coverage rate reaches 45.91%.
Since the beginning of the 2026 dry season, there have been no fires causing damage to forest resources in the area. The forestry sector has promptly reviewed and updated forecast information and warnings of forest fire risks for inspection, verification and handling; and at the same time organized duty and guards in high-risk areas when forecasting forest fires at levels III, IV, V.
Forces, vehicles, and equipment are always guaranteed, ready to participate in firefighting and support localities when large fires occur or on request.

According to forecasts from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the coming time, temperatures in the North, Central and Southern regions tend to increase, hot weather may occur on a large scale, increasing the risk of forest fires.
To proactively prevent and fight forest fires (PCCCR) and minimize damage, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has proposed to localities. Among them, Lam Dong has synchronously implemented response measures.
Localities need to strengthen inspection and control of high-risk areas; review, supplement and effectively implement PCCCR plans of units and forest owners.
At the same time, ensuring forces, supplies, equipment, and logistics; maintaining readiness to handle urgent situations, preventing forest fires from occurring.

Along with that, promote propaganda, raise people's awareness; guide the use of fire in and near forests, especially field burning and farming activities; control the treatment of vegetation with fire and acts that pose a potential fire hazard.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province noted that when forest fires occur, it is necessary to urgently mobilize forces and vehicles to extinguish the fire, minimize damage; and at the same time quickly overcome the consequences and restore the burned forest area.
Functional agencies must also investigate, determine the causes, and strictly handle violating organizations and individuals according to regulations.
