On March 18, leaders of Tan Hoi commune said that a fire of about 1ha of pine forest had just occurred in the area. Thanks to the quick coordination of forces, the fire was controlled promptly, preventing it from spreading.

Previously, at noon on March 17, in Sub-area 300 (Tan Binh village, Tan Hoi commune), a pine forest fire occurred in hot weather conditions, thick and dry ground cover, posing a risk of fire spreading.
Immediately upon receiving the news, the Military Command of Tan Hoi commune mobilized about 30 officers and soldiers including officers, professional soldiers and mobile standing militia to the scene, coordinating forces to deploy firefighting.

Due to the high hill terrain, far from water sources, and thick vegetation, the fire broke out quickly, the forces divided directions to approach, urgently cordoned off the area, and prevented the fire from spreading to the surrounding area.
Officers and soldiers used firebreakers, combined with tree branches and fire extinguishers to handle the fire points. Despite thick smoke and high temperatures, the participating forces still stayed, handled flexibly, and were determined to extinguish the fire.
After nearly 3 hours of effort, the fire was completely extinguished, ensuring safety for people and minimizing damage to forest resources. The cause of the fire is being clarified by functional agencies.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Luu Hong Phong, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Tan Hoi commune, as soon as receiving information, the unit determined that this was an emergency situation, with a risk of spreading, so it quickly mobilized forces and deployed handling plans suitable to the terrain.
Officers and soldiers have promoted the spirit of responsibility, regardless of difficulties, contributing to controlling the fire in the shortest time," Lieutenant Colonel Phong said.
