Latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 p.m. on November 8, the center of storm Fung-wong was at about 13.2 degrees north latitude; 128.4 degrees east longitude. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 14 (150-166 km/h), gusting to level 17. The storm is moving west-northwest at a speed of about 30 km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move west-northwest, about 30 km/h. At 7:00 p.m. on November 9, the center of the storm was at about 15.6 degrees north latitude; 122.2 degrees east longitude, in the coastal area east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The storm is likely to strengthen, reaching super typhoon level 16, gusting above level 17.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the storm will continue to move west-northwest, at a speed of 15-20 km/h.
At around the morning of November 10, Typhoon Fung-wong is likely to move into the eastern sea of the North East Sea, becoming the 14th active storm in the East Sea in 2025.
At 7:00 p.m. on November 10, the center of the storm was at about 17.3 degrees north latitude; 118.8 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of the northern East Sea. The intensity gradually weakened, to level 13, gust level 16.
The dangerous area at sea is from latitude 14.5 to 19.5 degrees north; east of longitude 117 degrees east. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea.
It is forecasted that in the next 72 hours, the storm will move north-northwest at a speed of 10-15 km/h. At 7:00 p.m. on November 11, the center of the storm was at about 19.7 degrees north latitude; 117.8 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of the northern East Sea. Strong intensity level 13, gust level 16.
The dangerous area at sea is from latitude 15.5 to 22 degrees north; east of longitude 116.0 degrees east. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea.
From the next 72 to 120 hours, the storm will tend to move north, then northeast; the initial speed will be 10-15 km/h, then increase to 20-25 km/h and the intensity will tend to decrease gradually.
Forecast of impacts at sea, east of the northern East Sea, winds will gradually increase to level 6-7, then increase to level 8-9; near the storm center, level 10-12, gusts of 14-15; waves 3-5 m high, then increase to 6-8 m; rough seas.
During the period of November 10-12, the sea area east of the northern East Sea is likely to be affected by strong storm winds of level 11-13, gusts of level6; waves 8-10 m high; rough seas.
All ships operating in the danger zone are at high risk of being affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
