Da Nang - The Chairman of the City People's Committee has signed a decision announcing an emergency situation due to landslides on the Chalang River bank, passing through the administrative center of Avương commune.

On March 16, information from the office of the Da Nang City People's Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An signed and issued a decision on announcing an emergency situation caused by natural disasters in Avương commune.

According to reports, in the past time, especially from the end of October 2025 to now, prolonged heavy rains, along with the impact of storm No. 13, have caused serious landslides in Avương commune.

Many traffic works such as soft guardrails, markers, and signs have been damaged and buried. The landslide of positive and negative taluy slopes has caused many power poles to collapse, causing wire breaks, leading to widespread power outages and traffic jams. This has seriously affected the daily life and the provision of essential goods for people in villages and hamlets.

The working group, after actual inspection, recorded the situation of riverbank erosion and flow changes that are continuing to cause erosion of agricultural land and pose a direct threat to the commune People's Committee headquarters as well as residential areas in the administrative center.

Faced with the above situation, the Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee assigned the Chairman of Avương Commune People's Committee, who is also the Head of the Commune Civil Defense Command, to immediately deploy urgent measures to respond and overcome the consequences.

Specifically, Avương commune needs to continue to closely monitor the diễn biến of landslides and the situation of natural disasters; proactively mobilize forces and vehicles to evacuate people out of dangerous areas when bad situations occur, and at the same time ensure logistics work at the evacuation site.

Warning work is also required to be strengthened, including placing warning signs, zoning dangerous areas and arranging guard forces. Information and communication work needs to be promoted so that people understand the dangers and proactively prevent them.

Relevant units are required to have solutions to ensure safety for people and vehicles circulating around the landslide area, and at the same time propagate and mobilize affected households to proactively plan to protect people and property.

The City People's Committee also requested Avương commune and the Da Nang Transport and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board to urgently implement measures to handle damaged traffic items according to the existing directions.

The work of ensuring security and order, especially in evacuated areas, is also emphasized. Avương commune needs to regularly update the situation and report to the City People's Committee and relevant departments and agencies for timely direction.
