On June 3, Ms. Duong Thi Anh Hong, an environmental sanitation worker of Gia Lai Urban Works Joint Stock Company, received a certificate of merit from the Chairman of Pleiku Ward People's Committee, to recognize and commend her honest and responsible actions when she picked up valuable assets and proactively handed them over to the Police agency to find the person who dropped them.
Previously, at about 0:40 on May 4, while working on Nguyen Tat Thanh street, Ms. Hong picked up a stack of money including many banknotes of 500,000 VND denomination. Realizing that this was a large amount of money, she quickly brought all her assets to Pleiku Ward Police to report, asking for verification and to find the owner.
After receiving information, Pleiku Ward Police urgently deployed verification and review measures and identified the owner as Mr. N.H. H., residing in Thong Nhat ward, Gia Lai province. On May 6, the unit organized the return of 37.5 million VND to Mr. H. in the presence of Ms. Hong.
Ms. Duong Thi Anh Hong's actions have shown honesty, responsibility and respectable civic consciousness, contributing to spreading good values in the community, building a civilized and meaningful lifestyle in the area.
