On November 5, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police informed that in the spirit of serving the people, officers and soldiers of Van Du Commune Police, Thanh Hoa Province have recently implemented many practical sharing activities. These simple but warm actions help spread the image of a close and dedicated police officer, contributing to maintaining the peace of the village.
Ms. Bui Thi Hong was born in 1950, residing in Bong But village, and is a case with particularly difficult circumstances. Having lost her sight at birth, poor health, and no husband or children, Ms. Hong lives alone in a small, dilapidated house. Previously, she lived with her younger sister, Mrs. Bui Thi Nuc, born in 1956, but in 2024, Mrs. Nuc passed away, leaving Mrs. Hong alone with neighbors and the care of the government and the organization.
Understanding the situation, Van Du Commune Police regularly visited, gave gifts and helped Ms. Hong with her daily activities. In a simple house in the countryside, the green shirt shorts often diligently clean the garden, clean the kitchen, rearrange the mattress, cook rice in groups and sit and chat to make her less miserable. Every time they come, the brothers and sisters arrange early, some go to the market, some cut meat, some cook, and have a hot meal to prepare, which is also a word of encouragement for her to be more confident.
Major Bui Thi Lan, a commune police officer, has been attached to the grassroots for many years, affectionately cutting her hair, washing her hair and chatting with Ms. Hong in the familiar Muong language. The difficult questions in the mother's voice and the sincere smile of the female soldier made the old lady's face radiant. In understanding the culture of the people, small care becomes a great source of comfort, helping Ms. Hong feel more clearly the arms of the community.

Sharing about this activity, Lieutenant Colonel Quach Thanh Nam - Head of Van Du Commune Police, said: Small things bring great confidence. Being close to the people to understand the people and help the people in a timely manner is the way each officer and soldier disciplines, fosters responsibility, and realizes the motto of Serving the People in each working day.
From Ms. Hong's story, we can clearly see the spirit of people in need, when people are in difficulty, there is a police. The image of a soldier washing his hair, cleaning the house, and slicing meat to cook rice not only helps a lonely elderly person overcome difficulties but also fosters the people's trust in the police force at the grassroots level, where peace is started with such kind and close deeds.
