On the morning of September 7, Lao Cai Provincial Police informed that Mau A Commune Police had just found and brought a 70-year-old man who was lost nearly 100km back home safely.
Previously, on the evening of September 5, through grasping the situation in the area, Mau A Commune Police received information about an elderly man straying in the locality. This person showed signs of poor memory, unable to determine the way home.
Through verification, functional forces identified the lost person as Mr. Nguyen Van Trong (70 years old, residing in Thanh Xa commune, Phu Tho province).
According to information from the family, at about 10 am on the same day, Mr. Trong left home by bicycle to visit his daughter.
Due to not knowing the way, during the movement, he got lost and went to Mau A commune, nearly 100km from his residence.
Recognizing that Mr. Trong was old, with limited memory and could not find his way home on his own, Mau A Commune Police quickly verified his personal information, hometown and relatives.
After contacting the family and agreeing on the plan, Mau A Commune Police used specialized vehicles to assist in bringing Mr. Trong from Phu Tho back to his family in Lao Cai.
