On February 20, Lam Dong Provincial Police said that Captain Le Dinh Thanh - Economic Security Department, Provincial Police promptly rescued 2 tourists swept away by waves while swimming in the sea.
Previously, on the afternoon of February 19 (the 3rd day of Tet), Captain Le Dinh Thanh and the working group performed the task of inspecting and urging the assurance of security and order in the grassroots area.
When on the way back, to the beach area in Tan Thanh commune (Lam Dong province), Captain Thanh heard people shouting that a tourist was swept away by waves while swimming in the sea.

Discovering 2 young children being swept away by the waves, at risk of being swept away, Captain Le Dinh Thanh quickly jumped into the sea, approached the 2 victims for rescue. 2 tourists were brought ashore safely, reassured and handed over to their families.
It is known that the 2 young children and their families came from Da Lat to Tan Thanh beach for tourism. When the whole family went to the restaurant to eat, the 2 young children went down to swim and were swept away by the waves.
The brave and responsible action of Captain Le Dinh Thanh spreads a beautiful image of the People's Police soldier "For the country, forgetting oneself, serving the people".
Currently, Lam Dong Provincial Police are completing dossiers and procedures to request the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to consider and decide to award the "Brave Youth" Badge to Captain Le Dinh Thanh, in order to promptly recognize and commend the courageous, humane, and responsible actions for the People.
