On the evening of December 13, speaking with Lao Dong, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ha Van Tung, Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 (Lao Cai Traffic Police Department) said that the unit had just commended traffic police officers for promptly helping a woman with a stroke in the intersection.
Accordingly, at around 7:00 a.m. on December 9, at the Km 5 red light intersection (Yen Bai ward, Lao Cai province), while performing the task of traffic diversion and regulation, Captain Nguyen Viet Hung discovered a woman driving a bicycle having a sudden accident and falling onto the road.
Immediately, Captain Hung and the working group quickly approached and performed first aid, thanks to which the woman was out of danger and gradually stabilized in health.

Through initial verification, the person in distress was identified as Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam (born in 1962).
After that, Captain Nguyen Viet Hung proactively contacted Mrs. Tam's family to coordinate in bringing the victim home safely.
Witnessing the incident, Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, a resident present at the Km 5 intersection, said: "When the woman riding a bicycle fell onto the road, it was a surprise, many people were still confused, but the traffic police quickly ran to provide first aid. If you are not calm and professional, the consequences will be unpredictable.

The Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 assessed that Captain Nguyen Viet Hung's actions were a vivid demonstration of a sense of responsibility, serving the people in performing their duties.
Each officer and soldier on duty on the road must not only ensure traffic order and safety but also be ready to support people in emergency situations. Such specific and timely actions need to be recognized and spread throughout the force, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ha Van Tung shared.
