According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam, by the morning of February 20, the movie "Thỏ ơi!!" directed and starring Tran Thanh had grossed more than 135.5 billion VND, temporarily leading the Vietnamese film race during the Binh Ngo Tet 2026.
Set in a live talk show, where the character "Sister Bo Vai" (played by LyLy) leads anonymous stories, the film revolves around the character Tho - Nhat Ha (played by Phao). Tho appears in a talk show to confide about a romantic relationship that once showed signs of psychological control and manipulation. "Thỏ ơi!!" reveals the dark side of love and marriage, where the "masks" of truth are gradually removed.

In second place on the 2026 Tet revenue chart is "My Father's House, One Room", a work directed by Truong Giang, reaching over 43.8 billion VND.
The film exploits the context of a family of many generations living together in a cramped space, from which come up funny and tearful situations but also rich in emotions. The work follows the comedy - family direction, continuing Truong Giang's familiar style with everyday stories, close to the audience.
Ranked third is "God-given Treasure", which grossed nearly 24 billion VND after its opening days. The film belongs to the romantic comedy genre, gathering Phuong Anh Dao and Tuan Tran.
The film's content revolves around the character Hong (Tuan Tran) in the journey to find self-worth and love. Although initially expected to be destined for the character of Phuong Anh Dao, the story turns when Hong has a relationship with Ngan (Bich Ngoc), creating emotional knots and unexpected elements for the film's flow.
Mui Pho" currently ranks fourth with revenue of over 17.5 billion VND. The film stars Xuan Hinh, Thu Trang, Tien Loc, Cuong Ca, Bao Nam...

The work tells the story of a multi-generational family with differences in life views, but still connected by family affection. The image of a bowl of pho throughout the film is used as a cultural symbol, evoking memories, roots and traditional values in Vietnamese life.
Up to now, "Thỏ ơi!!" has won the Vietnamese film race with revenue far exceeding the series of movies released at the same time.
On the morning of February 20, "Thỏ ơi!!" led overwhelmingly with more than 18 billion VND in box office revenue, accounting for about 62.4% of total revenue in the group of four films. The work sold nearly 189,000 tickets out of 4,508 screenings. The ticket and revenue ratio both exceeded the screening ratio (52.1%), showing the highest theater occupancy rate in the market.
Standing second is "My Father's House, One Room" with 5.77 billion VND, equivalent to nearly 20% of the revenue market share. The film sold more than 60,000 tickets out of 1,812 screenings, the revenue and ticket ratios are almost equivalent to the screening ratio.
Meanwhile, "Heavenly Treasure" grossed 3.28 billion VND, accounting for about 11.3% of revenue despite holding 15.6% of screenings. Similarly, "Mui Pho" reached 1.83 billion VND, accounting for 6.3% of revenue over 11.3% of screenings.
It can be seen that "Thỏ ơi!!" not only leads in absolute numbers but also surpasses in the efficiency of screening exploitation, while the remaining films are chasing quite far away. Therefore, the possibility of the film series surpassing "Thỏ ơi!!" to rise to the top of the box office is not high.
However, from the end of this week, when people from all over flock to the big city after the long Tet holiday, the number of theater audiences may increase, especially in the evening and weekend hours. This is considered an important period when cinema complexes adjust screening slots according to actual needs.
If the word-of-mouth effect continues to be maintained well, "Thỏ ơi!!" is likely to still maintain its advantage. However, for the remaining films, this is still an opportunity to improve performance to fill the screening room, especially when family audiences and young people return to their normal rhythm of life after Tet.
The box office race is therefore not completely over, although the balance is clearly leaning towards the leading work.
