Ho Chi Minh City - At Tan Son Nhat airport, the police force continuously discovered, preserved and returned many valuable assets forgotten by passengers.

On September 14, Tan Son Nhat International Airport (HKQT) Border Gate Police, Immigration Management Department, said that in recent days, officers and soldiers of the unit have repeatedly discovered, searched and returned property and papers of passengers who forgot or lost them at the airport.

One of the notable cases occurred at about 8:10 pm on August 4, in the domestic arrival station area, border gate police officers discovered a handbag left by a passenger in the toilet. Through inspection, the handbag contained assets worth more than 500 million VND.

The border gate police preserved the handbag according to regulations, and at the same time verified information to find the owner. After that, all assets were returned to Ms. L.N. Y. P., a passenger on flight VJ385 from Quy Nhon to Ho Chi Minh City.

Similarly, on the morning of August 7, at the hand luggage scanning area, a Rolex watch was forgotten on the luggage tray and discovered by border gate police officers. Through verification, the watch worth about 600 million VND belonged to Mr. P.T. H., a passenger on flight CI782 to Taipei. The watch was then returned intact to its owner.

In addition to the two cases of valuable assets above, in August, Tan Son Nhat International Airport Border Gate Police also received, discovered and returned many other assets and documents to passengers. Including a smartwatch of an Italian national passenger; a mobile phone; a handbag containing a gold metal chain, a white metal ring studded with stones, a tablet, 2 wallets with 8 million VND and 65 USD, along with 2 Vietnamese and US passports,...

In another case, the border gate police also supported two Japanese passengers to find their lost passports while traveling by taxi.

At 11:40 PM on August 29, at the international departure terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, 2 Japanese nationals reported losing their passports while traveling by taxi from the morning of the same day to the airport to check in for a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Osaka.

Upon receiving information, border gate police officers quickly verified and contacted the car booking application and the driver. Through coordinated search, the passport was found and handed over to the passenger.

According to the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Border Gate Police, the above cases are handled during the process of officers and soldiers performing duties at the airport. Timely searching, preserving and returning property and documents helps passengers limit damage and ensure the journey continues smoothly.
