On the morning of April 13, information from the People's Committee of Cam Lo commune (Quang Tri province) said that relevant units had just received 2 pangolins discovered by people and voluntarily handed over.
Previously, at about 8:30 pm on April 12, while working near the Cam Lo - La Son expressway area in Cam Lo commune, Mr. Le Thanh Tung (resident of Thuong Nghia village, Cam Lo commune) and a friend discovered 2 pangolins lying on the roadside, with a total weight of more than 4kg.
Realizing that this is a rare and precious wild animal that needs to be protected, Mr. Tung proactively contacted functional agencies to hand it over.

After receiving it, the local government temporarily handed over 2 pangolins to the Cam Lo - Dong Ha Forest Protection Department for management and care during the time of completing procedures to release them back to the natural environment according to regulations.
According to functional agencies, pangolins (also known as pangolins) are endangered, precious and rare wild animals, belonging to group IB in the Vietnam Red Book, which are prioritized for strict protection.
