On the morning of September 21, Can Tho City Police said that Mr. T is a driver of a cashew nut trading company in Dong Nai. On September 7, 2026, after receiving 464 million VND in goods money from a partner, he transferred the above amount to the company's account.
However, during the process of entering the recipient's account number, due to carelessness and not checking the information before confirming the transaction, Mr. T transferred the entire amount of money to another account.
Discovering the incident, Mr. T quickly contacted the bank to find a way to handle it. However, due to regulations related to customer information security and transaction handling, he could not immediately get back the mistakenly transferred money.
In the opposite direction, the account that suddenly received 464 million VND belonged to a student residing in Tan An ward, Can Tho city. Realizing that the amount of money transferred to the account was too large and of unknown origin, the student's family proactively contacted the bank to lock the account, without making any transactions for this amount of money.
After that, contact was established between Mr. T and the family of the money recipient.
Faced with the reality that many fraudulent tricks have appeared recently related to transferring money to accounts and then requesting recipients to return it, the student's family is not in a hurry to make transactions at the request of strangers. To ensure safety, transparency and avoid possible risks, the family requests that the matter be resolved with the support of the Police agency.
Upon receiving the information, the Head of Tan An Ward Police directed the area police to urgently verify and contact relevant parties to assist in resolving the incident as soon as possible.
The area police then exchanged with Mr. T and the student's family, agreeing on a time to go to the Ward Police headquarters to clarify related information.
On September 16, Mr. T came from Dong Nai to Can Tho City. After the parties clearly identified the origin of the money and agreed on a solution plan, with the support of functional agencies, the student's family and Mr. T directly went to the bank transaction office to carry out the necessary procedures.
The entire 464 million VND was then returned to Mr. T.
Receiving the money back, Mr. T wrote a letter of thanks to Tan An Ward Police and the student's family for supporting him in resolving the matter.
