On July 11, a clip of a man rescuing a child from a train went viral on social media. According to the camera, at the intersection between the railway and the entrance to Cao Xa village (Viet Hoa ward, Hai Phong city), a child suddenly ran across the railway when the train was approaching. Right when the danger was approaching, a man passing by the area rushed over and pulled the child out of the rails in a huff.
According to the image recorded by the security camera, the action took place within a few seconds but decided the child's life. That quick-witted man was Mr. Tran Van Nam (born in 1997, Loi Xa village, Tue Tinh commune, Hai Phong city) - a pedestrian, who happened to be in the area.
Many people after reviewing the video shared a "terrifying" feeling because just one slow beat could cause a serious accident. The baby was then brought home safely, unharmed.
Sharing with Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Tran Van Nam said: At that time, at about 5:15 p.m. on July 9, when I reached the train section, I heard the ship whistle from afar. Looking up, the train was very close, and the child was wandering in the middle of the railway, like riding a bicycle, wanting to back up but unable. I couldn't think of anything, couldn't stand against the motorbike, threw the motorbike away and rushed so quickly to pull him out."
The child then returned home safely, unharmed. The incident happened only temporarily but was enough to prevent a serious accident.
Nam refused to accept himself as a hero. I think whoever was in that situation would have acted like that. Luck is in time, I'm fine with it" - he shared.
After the video went viral on social media, many people praised Mr. Nam's actions.
