On March 6, La Lay Commune Police (Quang Tri province) confirmed that the unit had just supported people to return 500 million VND mistakenly transferred to their account by others.
Previously, at about 11 am on March 4, the bank account of Ms. Tran Thi Trang (born in 1976, residing in A Rong Tren village, La Lay commune) reported that 500 million VND had been transferred.
After checking, Ms. Trang realized that no acquaintance had transferred such a large amount of money to her account, so she proactively went to La Lay Commune Police to report and ask for support in finding the owner to return it.
At the same time, La Lay Commune Police also received information from Ms. Le Thi Ha (born in 1974, residing in Khe Sanh commune, Quang Tri province) about mistakenly transferring 500 million VND to the account of a resident in La Lay commune.
Upon receiving the incident, La Lay Commune Police coordinated to verify information from the bank, clarifying that the amount of 500 million VND that Ms. Trang received was due to Ms. Ha's mistaken transfer.
After verification, the police force supported the parties to carry out procedures and return the entire amount of 500 million VND to the person who transferred it by mistake.
At the refund ceremony for the mistakenly transferred money, Ms. Trang was happy, saying that returning the money was a matter of course, while Ms. Ha said that when she knew she had mistakenly transferred money, she was very worried. But when she received information that a woman reported to the La Lay Commune Police to find the owner of the mistakenly transferred money, she was reassured and felt lucky and happy to meet a good person.
According to La Lay Commune Police, Ms. Tran Thi Trang's actions not only helped the wrongly transferred person receive back the property but also showed the awareness of law compliance, honesty and responsibility of citizens.
