On January 7, An Tinh Ward Police, Tay Ninh province said that the unit had requested to commend Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap, residing in An Tinh ward, for his beautiful and honest actions when he picked up large value money and voluntarily handed it over to return it to the person who dropped it.
Previously, at about 11 pm on January 5, 2026, while traveling in An Tinh ward, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap picked up a lost wallet. Through inspection, inside the wallet there were about 40 million VND in cash and many important personal papers.
Realizing that this was a large asset, meaningful to the person who lost it, Mr. Lap quickly brought all the money and papers to An Tinh Ward Police to hand over, asking functional forces to verify and find the owner.

Immediately after receiving the information, An Tinh Ward Police conducted verification and quickly identified the owner of the assets as Ms. Ly Thi Yen Thu, residing in An Khuong neighborhood, An Tinh ward.
Through working, Ms. Thu said that before that, while eating late at a banh canh restaurant in the ward, due to negligence, she dropped her wallet without knowing it.
After completing the verification procedures according to regulations, the next morning, in the presence of An Tinh Ward Police officers, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap directly returned the wallet along with the entire amount of 40 million VND and personal papers to Ms. Ly Thi Yen Thu.

Receiving the lost property back, Ms. Thu could not hide her emotion and sent sincere thanks to Mr. Lap as well as the An Tinh Ward Police force. She shared: "I thought that lost property would be difficult to find again. I was really surprised and touched by Mr. Lap's kindness. Thanks to him and the support of the Ward Police, I received all the property back.
According to An Tinh Ward Police, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap's actions are a clear manifestation of honesty and kindness, in line with the spirit of "finding lost things, returning them to the person who lost them". More importantly, although the property is of great value, Mr. Lap does not demand any repayment. His actions not only help the property loser overcome difficulties but also contribute to spreading humanistic and affectionate values, building a beautiful image of An Tinh people in particular and Tay Ninh province in general.
