On the morning of January 2, 2026, information from Vietnam Railways Corporation said that on train SE5 departing from Hanoi station on January 1, 2026, the train crew promptly supported a passenger to find lost property, gold.
Accordingly, when train SE5 stopped at Dong Hoi station at 7:27 PM on the same day, while working at the station, a flight attendant on car number 9 received information that a passenger had forgotten a gold package wrapped in napkins and accidentally put it in a trash bag he had just taken to the station.
Immediately after receiving the information, the flight attendant reported to the Train Chief to organize the search. The train crew coordinated to search all the trash bags just brought down to Dong Hoi station but did not find the property as described by the passenger. Because it was time for the train to run, the train continued its journey to Ho Chi Minh City.

During the re-inspection of the train car, flight attendant Le Thi Minh Quyen discovered a trash bag containing a forgotten gold package of passengers and domestic waste. Under the witness of passengers, the train crew conducted an inspection and determined that inside the napkin package there was a pair of gold metal earrings and a gold metal necklace.
Passengers expressed their joy when finding their belongings and thanked the flight attendant, crew and Captain for their enthusiastic support.

Previously, at 7:20 PM on December 31, 2025, train SE3 departed from Hanoi station and arrived at Saigon station at 5:15 AM on January 2, 2026. After seeing passengers off the train, the flight attendant in charge of carriage number 6 proceeded to check and collect belongings and received information that passengers had forgotten their belongings on the train.
Through inspection, the flight attendant discovered in room number 5, bed number 18 a black women's handbag placed in a pillow bag. Reporting to the Captain and coordinating with the security force, the crew inspected the inside of the handbag, determining that there was a used black wallet, inside containing more than 16 million VND in cash, along with personal papers and 13 bank credit cards.
All assets were then handed over to passengers in accordance with regulations.
