On December 14, the Northwest Traffic Police Station, Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police said it had issued a record to driver Ng.V.T (36 years old) for the violation of driving a container truck in the wrong direction.
At the police station, Mr. T said that at around 8:00 a.m. on December 13, he drove a container truck into a warehouse on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street. However, the vehicle entering the warehouse caused congestion. To move in another direction to the warehouse, Mr. T asked the residents if there were cameras in this area. When he learned that there were no cameras in this area, Mr. T took the risk to drive in the wrong direction to enter the warehouse.
After receiving information about the incident, the Northwest Traffic Police Station immediately verified the container's going in the wrong direction on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street.
The traffic police invited Mr. T to work and made a record to fine him 19 million VND and deduct 4 points from his driver's license.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that at noon on December 13, a clip of a container truck blatantly driving in the wrong direction on DT 744 route (also known as Nguyen Chi Thanh road), passing through Hiep An ward, Ho Chi Minh City, was circulating on social media.
The image was recorded by a traffic participant, the container truck driving in the wrong direction in the lane for two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles. Container trucks running in the wrong direction on a long distance make motorbike participants afraid and avoid it.
According to the reporter, Nguyen Chi Thanh Street has 6 lanes, with a median strip, 3 lanes in each direction. Container trucks driving in the wrong direction have a potential risk of causing traffic accidents.
