On June 6, Ia O Commune People's Committee, Gia Lai province said that it had handed over the body of the woman swept away on the Se San River to her family after more than 1 day of disappearance.
For many hours, functional forces organized searches in many areas, and at the same time notified the hydropower plant on the Se San River to close the spillway gate.
However, the terrain in the area is relatively complex with many fast flows. The Se San River area is also home to many hydropower dams operating.
Until late at night on June 5, people fishing on the Se San River about 6 km from the scene of Ms. M.'s disappearance discovered a female body. Determining that the body was Ms. M.'s, functional agencies handed it over to the family for burial.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 2:20 pm on June 4, La O Commune Police received a report about Ms. D. T. H. M (born in 2002, temporarily residing in: Kloong village, La O commune, Gia Lai province) when taking photos with her parents, Ms. Phuong and Mr. Vui at Ferry 6, she slipped and fell into the Se San River.
The accident location is in Ferry 6 area, Bi village, La O commune, Ms. M. fell into the river while playing near the riverbank. Relatives tried to rescue her but were unsuccessful.
Upon receiving the news, Ia O Commune People's Committee directed the Police and Military forces to coordinate with Ia O Border Guard Station and local people to organize the search for the victim.
