On the morning of June 5, functional forces of Ta Van commune, Lao Cai province found the body of Mr. Truong Hai N. (born 1988, residing in residential group 8, Xuan Phuong ward, Hanoi), the remaining victim in the incident in the Muong Hoa stream area, near BOO Water Plant.
Previously, at about 11:46 am on June 3, Ta Van Commune People's Committee received a report from people about the discovery of a body in the Muong Hoa stream head area, Cat Cat village.
Immediately after that, the local government mobilized the Commune Police, the Commune Military Command, militia forces and local forces to deploy search and rescue work.
At about 1:50 pm on the same day, functional forces brought the body of a woman ashore, identified as Ms. Dang Thi Thu H. (born in 1995, residing in Hoa Phu commune, Hanoi).
The victim's body was handed over to the family on June 4 for funeral arrangements according to local customs.
Due to the terrain of the area where the incident occurred being dangerous, with many rocky rapids and strong currents, the search for the remaining victims faced many difficulties.
After many hours of searching efforts, by the morning of June 5, functional forces had found the body of Mr. Truong Hai N., thereby completing the search for victims in the incident.
According to initial assessments by functional agencies, based on the location of discovery and related traces, the incident shows signs of suicide. The cause is being verified and clarified.
