    HUE - Hoa Chau ancient citadel is associated with the Cham Pa'Dai Viet period, containing many historical and cultural values, but the preservation and promotion of values are not effective.

    Located about 10km from the center of Hue city, Hoa Chau ancient citadel (belonging to Thanh Trung residential group, Hoa Chau ward), a relic associated with the historical period of Cham Pa - Dai Viet, is facing difficulties in the work of preserving and promoting its value (currently only a few traces remain).

    According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the Hoa Chau ancient citadel area has been surveyed and archaeologized many times. Researchers have clearly identified the location, scale, structure, date and role of this citadel.

Right in the grounds of Thanh Trung Pagoda, the ancient pagoda was recognized as a provincial-level historical relic in 2007, and is where many archaeological remains of Hoa Chau citadel were discovered.

Theo nguoi dan, chua nay dang luu giu “bo tuong than Vishnu cua nguoi Cham Pa”, (hinh anh nhung hien vat dang duoc dat trong khuon vien chua).
    The signboard here says that the pagoda was built in 1745, located in the ancient citadel area. Although it has historical value, the pagoda is now often closed, with no Buddhists living there. According to the people, this pagoda is preserving the " statue of the god Vishnu of the Cham Pa people".
