However, the contractor could not overcome the delay situation. The contractor's prolonged delay in progress and now being fired has forced people to continue moving on the old, narrow and degraded bridge.Regarding the plan in the coming time, representatives of the Department of Finance of Hue City said that relevant units are completing dossiers to re-organize bidding for package No. 28 (including Vy Da bridge and the bridge over the Nhu Y river and the 100m road connecting zone A - B of An Van Duong urban area). It is expected that the selection of new contractors will be implemented in June 2026.The locality sets a target to complete the entire project by 2027.Overview of Vy Da bridge connecting Pham Van Dong street and Ba Trieu street being expanded. When completed, the bridge will help reduce traffic pressure, creating motivation for development towards the eastern area of the city.
The project to upgrade and expand Vy Da bridge, the bridge over the Nhu Y River and the 100m road connecting Zone A and B of An Van Duong urban area (package 28) has a total contract value of over 114 billion VND, under the Program for developing type II urban areas (green cities) in Hue City, with a total investment of over 2,200 billion VND from foreign loans and local counterpart funds.
